Affirm laser treatments are for people whose skin shows signs of aging such as wrinkles, discoloration or imperfections. It can decrease the effects of sun damage and age. Wrinkles, fine lines increased pore size and brown discoloration can be effectively diminished. It is also helpful in reducing the irregularity of acne and surgical scars as well as improving stretch marks.

The Affirm laser treatment is the next generation in treating with Fractionated lasers.

The Combined Apex Pulse (CAP) technology in the Affirm laser distributes light energy to create a more comfortable and effective procedure with lasting results. The treatment stimulates patient's own collagen production and promotes tissue tightening through tissue coagulation. It also remodels patients own collagen for a more youthful look.

Affirm uses a fractional approach to laser skin resurfacing. Instead of treating the entire surface of the skin, only 20% is treated at a time. The Combined Apex Pulse (CAP) technology utilizes 1000 tiny microthermal columns of treatment with higher energy. The rest of the 80% of the area is treated with a low level of laser energy. The fractional approach is gentler with little or no downtime!

Patients will require a series of 3 - 5 treatments to expose all of the skin to the microthermal laser zones. Sessions last 30 minutes and are spaced 3 weeks apart. It is performed by a certified technician.

Unlike other fractionated treatments, Affirm does not require any anesthesia.

Because the laser does not go any deeper into the skin than necessary, numbing cream is not needed for treatments. If patients choose to have numbing cream applied, the office can supply it. Any redness, swelling or puffiness is usually gone within hours but not lasting more than a few days.

This is where the Affirm is superior to all other fractional treatments! Most patients will be red or pink 1 - 2 days or most likely, a few hours. Swelling is minimal and most patients can apply make up immediately post treatments.

The specific risks and the suitability of this procedure for a given individual can be determined only at the time of consultation. All surgical procedures have some degree of risk. Minor complications that do not affect the outcome occur occasionally. Major complications are unusual.
