Mini Abdominoplasty (Mini Tummy)
INDICATIONS
Mini tummy tucks are done in patients whose skin laxity and muscle weakness extends only below the belly button. It is commonly combined with liposuction of the waist and hips.
INTENDED RESULTS
A flatter, tighter abdominal wall. Less subcutaneous fat in the skin of the abdomen.
RECUPERATION AND HEALING
The mini tummy tuck is less surgery than a full tummy tuck and therefore heals faster. Pain is controlled with oral medications as well as the On Q® pain pump. A drain is placed under the skin to remove excess fluid. The pain pump tubes can be removed on day three and the drain usually by day 5. Bruising and swelling resolve after 2 weeks. Patients with less vigorous job duties can usually return to work in 7-10 days.
OTHER OPTIONS
Mini tummy tucks can be done with all cosmetic breast procedures and are commonly combined with other areas of liposculpture.
