| When I was chosen for a complete make over by Dr. Salzman, I was thrilled. At age 44 I noticed my body began to change. Although I always exercised, ate a alanced diet and never had children, my abdomen and my chin carried a high percentage of fat.
At 5’3 and a size 6, my weight fluctuated between 118 to 125 lbs. At times it was difficult to button my pants as they became tighter and more uncomfortable around the waist to wear.
Then I noticed my eyelids began to disappear due to the excess skin and wrinkles above them. I applied makeup to my eyelids but saw no improvement.
Dr. Salzman assured me all these features could be improved including my nose. When I looked at my profile after the double chin was gone I could see the hump on my nose and imagined it to look more aesthetic. After we discussed all the changes, worked out the finances and time off of work, the big day arrived.
Since I am a health care professional, I am well aware of the risks of surgery, however I have known Dr. Salzman and his team for years and simply closed my eyes and let them do their job.
Recovery was amazing. I had expected my eyes and nose to be hurting but the facial regions simply were tight and hot. The cold and mist gel pack as well as the frozen peas truly decreased my discomfort. I had no pain in the abdominal region, however when getting out of bed and walking the pain did increase to four out of ten. This I considered tolerable and expected.
The next big improvement was my teeth. Again, I found a wonderful and skilled professional in Dr. Schaefer and his staff. The consult was more involved than I had expected but necessary as these changes had to be made in the future to keep my teeth and gums healthy. Dental work took more patience, as I was not under anesthesia like with my plastic surgery. Dr. Schaefer and his staff talked me through all procedures and the lab expedited the veneers and crowns in record time. Follow up was very caring and professional and the result astonishing.
Another great improvement was achieved with permanent eye and lip make up by Mitzi Johnson with “Making Faces”. Mitzi gave me the confidence and expertise for the permanent make up to look natural. What an easy way to put on make up or not at all!! Clean face, moisturize and go exercise. Terrific!
At Calvin Mitchell Salon, Calvin did wonders with my hair. Color, cut and style. I can even recreate my hairdo without extra effort or time.
Now, clothes and shoes from Karen of Course and off I went to Glamour Shots.
Lastly, to be in style, I was whisked away via Absolutely Limousine to a five-course dinner at Lilly’s. C’est Magnifique!
Finally, to make all of this possible and visible, Lori Lyle with Wave3 TV and the camera man were so encouraging, patient and competent for this “Once in a Life Time Complete Make Over”.
My special thanks go to each and everyone who was a participant in this Complete Make Over. Everyone placed a personal interest into making this a success particularly my dear friend, Karen Walters who was the director of this fantasy musical.
Donkeschoen, (Thank You)
