INDICATIONS
Wrinkles caused by increased motion of underlying facial muscles in the following areas: between the brows or the frown lines, on the outside of the eyes or the crow's feet, in the forehead or worry lines, and in the tight muscles in the front of the neck in certain instances. Botox can also be used in the upper lip to ease fine lines ("smoker's" lines).
INTENDED RESULTS

PROCEDURE DESCRIPTION
Tiny injections are done in the office. Very small amounts of botulism toxin are injected into the offending muscles.

RECUPERATION AND HEALING
Patients can experience bruising in the immediate area. The treated muscles may take up to one week to become temporally paralyzed. The results normally last 3-6 months.
OTHER OPTIONS
Placement of dermal fillers (i.e. Radiesse, Restylane, Cosmoplast, Cosmoderm, or dermal fat) and laser resurfacing may be enhanced by prior Botox® Treatments. Other options are laser resurfacing and endoscopic forehead lift.
NOTE
The specific risks and the suitability of this procedure for a given individual can be determined only at the time of consultation. All procedures have some degree of risk. Minor complications that do not affect the outcome occur occasionally. Major complications are rare.
