PROCEDURE DESCRIPTION
A pattern of skin removal is cut from above the red portion of the lip. Sutures are placed in layers to raise the border of the lip.
Although the procedure can be done in the office with a local anesthesia only, the use of sedation plus local or general anesthesia will make the procedure much easier to tolerate.
RECUPERATION AND HEALING
The lips are noticeably swollen for a week or two and sutures are removed within the next week.
Lip sensation is usually normal after healing.

Additional procedures that will enhance the results are: Fat transfer, Collagen, Softform, Advanta and Alloderm.
INSURANCE GUIDELINES
This procedure is considered cosmetic and therefore is not covered by insurance. The patient is responsible for payment.
