FOTO FACIAL®
INDICATIONS
Intense Pulse Light (BBL™) is an effective skin rejuvenation treatment using white light with filters to apply the appropriate range of light energies. It targets uneven skin tones, pigment issues, redness, age spots, freckles, textural irregularities (rough skin) and spider veins.
INTENDED RESULTS
Expectations are lightening of the skin tone, reducing the aged look from sun damage and other irregular pigment issues. Patients can expect fading of freckles, age spots, vascular lesions, spider veins and redness associated with rosaceous skin. Some improvements in skin texture such as fine lines or rough skin.
BBL™ is approached in a series of 4-6 visits with each treatment separated by a few weeks. Maintenance treatments are advised and available for patients completing their series.
PROCEDURE DESCRIPTION
The BBL™ applicator emits a filtered spectrum of light through a chilled sapphire plate. No anesthesia is necessary and only a cool gel is used on the skin. Pigmented lesions absorb the light and become heated. Lightening of the pigment typically occurs in 1-2 weeks post treatment. Following a series of 4-6 treatments, improvements in skin texture and fine lines are seen in most patients as new collagen is stimulated.
The procedure is performed in the office by a nurse or aesthetic cosmetologist. Most patients require no anesthesia, however, they may obtain a topical anesthetic cream if desired. Treatments take 30-40 minutes and are spaced 3-4 weeks apart. Other cosmetic Skin Spa treatments such as fillers, Botox® or resurfacing lasers are often combined in a single office visit.
RECUPERATION AND HEALING
There is no downtime, the patient can return to normal activities without restrictions. Makeup can be applied immediately after the procedure.

The specific risks and the suitability of this procedure for a given individual can be determined only at the time of consultation. All surgical procedures have some degree of risk. Minor complications that do not affect the outcome occur occasionally. Major complications are unusual.
