INDICATIONS

Lack of youthful appearance of the face, neck and skin. Signs of facial aging in the cheeks and jowls, appearance of nasolabial folds and wrinkles, fine lines, sun damage, discoloration, rough texture and scars.

INTENDED RESULTS

A more youthful and elevated contour of the face and jowl. Vibrant, tighter and younger looking skin. Improved skin imperfections and texture.

PROCEDURE DESCRIPTION

This procedure is done in the office under a local anesthesia with an oral sedative. Patients are numb and comfortable.

Incisions are hidden in the hairline and extend from slightly above the ear traveling down around the earlobe and ending right behind the ear. The subcutaneous layers of the face are tightened and facial skin is re-draped and lifted. Excess skin is removed.

LiteShape Laser Liposuction is then performed to the neck requiring tiny no-stitch incisions that allow two different laser fibers to pass. One laser melts excess fat that is removed through a thin canula while the other laser tightens the overlying skin.

Finally, a totally customized ProFractional laser treatment is performed using a laser micro-beam to treat pinpoint areas of the skin. The treatment stimulates your own collagen production, plumping up skin to smooth or eradicate skin irregularities from sun damage, discoloration, texture issues and wrinkles.

RECUPERATION AND HEALING

Immediately following the procedure, patients will experience redness (similar to sunburn) and a clear topical gel is applied. A dressing is worn around the head which is removed the next day. Bruising and swelling last about a week depending on how aggressive the patient and Dr. Salzman chose the laser treatment to be. Most patients return to normal activities and can apply makeup within 5 - 7 days.

Patients will require a ride home. Minimal discomfort is easily controlled with oral medications. Sutures are removed on the 5th day. Final result is evident in 4 - 6 weeks, or sooner, with continued improvement for several months.

Skin will be more sensitive to the sun making sun block a necessity.
