Restylane® in Louisville, Lexington, Kentucky
Restylane® is a hyaluronic acid filler that has been safely used worldwide since 1996. Other types of injectables in the Restylane family include Restylane® Lyft and Restylane® Silk. Hyaluronic acid is a natural building block that exists in human skin to provide volume and fullness. Restylane® is used to fill moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds such as the creases that form from the nose to the corner of the mouth (nasolabial folds).
Restylane® was also recently FDA-approved for lip enhancement and rejuvenation. Restylane® is injected in small amounts through either an ultra-fine needle or a blunt cannula. It is pre-mixed with lidocaine numbing medication, lessening any post-injection discomfort. For lip enhancement or rejuvenation, you may elect to have your lips blocked with a numbing injection prior to placing the product. Unlike Botox® Restylane® typically lasts 6-9 months.
