Vaser Liposuction in Louisville, Lexington, Kentucky
What is VASER Lipo?
VASER Lipo is the most gentle liposuction technique available. VASER Lipo is Tumescent Resonance Ultrasound followed by Fat Extraction, which describes what makes it different. First, tumescent fluid is placed into unwanted fat. Then, resonance ultrasound is used to shake the fat from the connective tissues so as not to disturb or damage them. Finally, the fat is extracted through a tiny cannula. This state-of-the-art Vaser technology achieves greatly-advanced surgical fat removal by providing a more gentle procedure which results in less patient discomfort and downtime. During your consultation, we use our Vectra system. This is a system that shows 3D images of the body and allows us to simulate how you may look after the surgery.
Who is a candidate for VASER Lipo?
VASER Lipo is used in similar situations in which traditional liposuction would be recommended. Patients who are at or near their ideal body weight would receive the best results. However, VASER Lipo is also effective for larger areas of fat reduction. Common areas that are treated with VASER Lipo include the abdomen, thighs, hips, back, arms, chest, and calves.

Permanent improvement in the contour of your body through fat removal and skin tightening, producing a more flattering figure in or out of clothing.
VASER Lipo uses ultrasonic energy that, when applied to fat cells, shakes the individual cell loose. This makes the fat easier to remove with a rotating cannula, lessening the bruising a patient may experience. One advantage of using VASER Lipo is that it uses the new Vaser technology that works solely on the fat cells, leaving all other tissues undisturbed. Secondly, VASER Lipo tightens the overlying skin from the inside, producing smoother and tighter skin. Like traditional liposuction, VASER Lipo is done under anesthesia and is generally done as an out-patient procedure. Numbing medicine is placed through tiny incisions. Small diameter ultrasound canulas are placed into the area and high-frequency ultrasound waves shake the fat loose from the surrounding tissues, allowing it to mix with the water of the numbing fluid. The fat and fluid are then removed with a gentle suction tube that allows for smooth and even fat removal with little blood loss. The tiny incisions are then closed with surgical glue and dressed with a waterproof bandage to allow for showering.
Recuperation and Healing
The desired results from VASER Lipo are generally seen in 4-6 weeks, although some see a difference immediately after the procedure. There is some swelling and bruising, and exercise should be avoided for 2 weeks. Patients wear a compression garment for two weeks after the procedure to minimize swelling. Improved contour is visible after a few weeks but can continue to improve for up to 4 months.
